Barbie Challenged

on

This weekend will be Madalyn's 4th birthday, however she will be with her mother so I decided to give her presents early. Grandma and Grandfather got her a Barbie, car, and clothes for the Barbie. Pretty cool!

I am curious to know if anyone else has problems getting toys out of their package without wanting to destry them? Is it just me or are the toy companies trying to make it difficult. It is probably me...

So we get to putting the clothes on the doll. I think the top is a bit tight, I struggle getting the pants on and mind you I spent a good 5 minutes wiggling this Barbie into these clothes for my happy little girl. Finally, I get to put the shoes on and they are way too SMALL. I mean there was no way to cram those feet in there at all. It dawned on me the clothes must of been for a different Barbie. I just figured it was lifelike and I have seen women work their way into a pair of pants not to mention the ones that purposely wear to small of shirts. Anyhow I have learned a valuable lesson. I hate Barbie! At least I only had to put the side mirrors on the car.

I can relate to this. Last year my little girl received several packages of Barbie clothes. Each package had what seemed like a billion little things to cut apart in order to get the clothes out. I felt like I spent the whole Christmas afternoon trying to open all of the packages. Then Barbie herself is just as bad. A ton of twist ties and those little plastic things. Aside from refusing to buy Barbie anything, it is just one more thing that we are forced to deal with. Just one more small annoying thing like a paper cut on a finger tip. It is there and most of the time you can ignore it, but when it hurts, it hurts!

:-) Glad I am not the only one. It is just a toy, why do they need to hold in in place in case there is a hurricane?

New oath, "NO MORE TOYS!"

We don't do Barbie shoes and accessories at our house, just the doll and clothes. I put the other little things away for when she is older. Little kids can't put the shoes on anyway and they just get lost. I don't know why they package things that way either. I hate the plastic that's SEWN into Barbie's hair to keep it in place in the package.....I think the Barbie people have too much time on their hands....
