Am I Truely Ready?

A passer by was kind enough to provide some detailed information that I found very useful. I realize sometimes that I still have work to do on myself. How can I expect more from a woman than I can provide myself. I get caught up on wanting a mate I get tunnel vision and forget about my relationship with the Lord, except for the "What Jason wants" stuff. I strive to draw closer to God so I CAN be the father, and someday, the husband I want to be. Anyhow here is the comment: Mmm, it is interesting to see a single, Christian guy's perspective on life. I hope I may add some words of wisdom from a single, divorced 30 something homeschooling mom. 1. Yes there are single women at church, yes that is where you find them. Go to the really good bible believing churches and you will find them. Go to the shallow, God is love churches and you will see them too, they are just more desperate and lonely and easier to spot. 2. Get some really good teaching on what a Proverbs 31 woman...

Being Thankful

With the hussle and bussle of the holidays it is easy to get distracted and forget what really matters. I was fortunate enough to spend Thanksgiving with just Madalyn and I. For some this is unthinkable but for me it was relaxing, peaceful, and refreshing. Being able to just sit back and watch how my little angel is able to manipulate her daddy and yet love him at the same time continually brought a smile to my face. A 3 year old, all most 3 years old, craftiness simplies blows my mind sometimes. Where did she learn this stuff from? They must be born with it. Anyhow, I had a wonderful day with Madalyn and was able to sit back and continually thank God for her. I don't know the last time when I was able to just sit back and smile while watching her. Sometimes it was almost like having a conversation with a grown up. Again, thank you God!! I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving and thanks to all for the book ideas.

Christian Children Book Ideas

As Madalyn gets older I am completely surprised that she wants me to continue to read to her, since I have no imagination and I seem to read in a monotone. My girl impressions sound like a chipmunk and faking an accent seems to be outside my scope of abilities. Never-the-less I try and she puts up with me… she is good to her daddy. Anyhow, I have gone to the Christian book store looking for some good books that are well written and fun for kids. I have a couple but I don’t really like them and Madalyn is not that interested in them either. I NEED IDEAS! I would sure like some ideas of books that you have read to your kids when they were or are 3 years old that are biblically based. Something with quick, short stories, yet entertaining since I have a very short attention span. :-) Thanks
