Back to School

Image
Okay maybe not quite yet... unless preschool counts but Monday grade-school starts and it has got me thinking a lot about when Madalyn is going to start kindergarter. I used to think that I would forget and she would be unschooled, poor kid. But now I am looking at how fast she is growing and my little girl will be starting regular school next year. I even have it picked out, it is about 3 blocks from my home and ranks fairly well so it really wasn't a hard choice. She seems excited to go and she has explained to me that she wants to walk, without her daddy. HMM! I don't think so. I think I am as excited as she is and with school will come additional challenges. I actually think I am getting the hang of this parenting thing and as long as God allows me to be a full-time dad then I can't wait to experience the excitment of school with Madalyn one day at a time. Have a great week for all those heading back to school. I am sure I will be looking for some advice next summer. Go...

Getting all the Breaks

Have you ever noticed that some people seem to catch a lot of breaks while others seem to always get passed by? Not that I have a hard life or am lacking but I have noticed that there are a few things I am constantly striving for that shouldn't be out of reach for some reason they continually slip through my fingers. For example: There is this young couple that bought tickets to win a home, they WON... several years later they bought a couple more and won again. I am not trying to gripe but I wonder sometimes why some seem to have an easier go at life while others don't. Is it the past choices they made? I know when it comes to a good portion of my life if I would of listened to God and not married the woman I did my life would be much simpler, yet I would not have been blessed with the wonderful little girl that I have. And...

City Life vs The Woods

I spent the last week in Wisconsin next to lake Superior and I must say there are a lot of trees up there. The scenery was beautiful but after awhile it all looked the same. I know this is going to sound crazy but I missed the small city of Boise Idaho . We stayed in a house on Iron Lake and met with family from Virginia to California. To be honest I felt like every time I turned around I would be face to face with a black bear, no black bear sightings but there were many American bald eagles to watch. It took me a while to capture a good picture of one but I finally did. YAY !! It was good to relax but I must say I am glad to be home! Pictures from the trip (there is a lot of them) The beach the kids practically lived on Iron Lake The Bald Eagle Madalyn with her cousin. They look sweet and innocent but they are far from it. I don't know how many times we had to tear these two apart. The best pictures.. Madalyn having fun! Going into this trip I was hoping to really connect with G...
